Lewis Carroll: El cocodrilo

Cuán pequeñín el cocodrilo
su cola tan lustrosa extiende
y esparce el agua del río Nilo
por cada escama que áurea esplende.

Sus garras despliega exquisito,
sus fauces centellean sonrientes,
y así recibe al pececito
debajo de sus tersos dientes.

Lewis Carroll
Versión al español de J. Darío Bravo (16/2/2019)
How doth the little crocodile
Improve his shining tail,
And pour the waters of the Nile
On every golden scale!

How cheerfully he seems to grin,
How neatly spreads his claws,
And welcomes little fishes in
With gently smiling jaws!
